The finished item will be approximately 2.75" in diameter.
In the picture of the finished item, I first mixed 30ml of epoxy a small amount of white resin dye, First filled the holes (grinder tips) and used a blunt tipped point tool to maneuver the epoxy all the way down into the tips. (careful not to pierce silicone)
Once I was confident I filled the tips and there are no air bubbles trapped fill up to the first line making sure the "wall" is filled without air bubbles trapped, of both sides. I let mine cure for 4 hours. I came back, mixed 30ml added glitter then filled the remainder of both sides. Let set until cure.
Curing times may vary. The amounts of epoxy I used may be different than the amount you will need. The amount of dye and glitter I used may have increased the volume to fill mine the way it did. I haven't tried using glitter in the first layer, so I don't recommend it since I don't know if it will cause the epoxy to not fill the tips completely.
***There is a bit of controversy about the finished resin piece. I am not a scientist/chemist to give advice on it's safety. All I can do is encourage those who plan on making them to do research and use at your own discretion. As far as the points breaking off... I have not had any break from the one I use. Initially that was a thought that occurred to me that may happen. I check to make sure none have broken after each use.
